The refuge is inside a Tuscan forests regional park and offers an uncontaminated natural environment, interesting for both its scenery and its fauna. In our mountains it is easy to observe in safety wild fallow deer, roe deer, hawks, eagles, and night predators and to follow the trail of wolves.
The refuge is connected with many well-marked mountain paths such as the CAI, SO.F.T. and the GEA. The structure itself was made from an ancient house of farmers and offers the night’s stay in seven rooms containing 45 beds total. It has an equipped kitchen and bathrooms with showers.
Upon request the management can organize excursions and environmental education trips with guides
