The Green Energy Camp in Palazzuolo sul Senio, founded in 1989, began as a survival camp and has since become a leading center for outdoor training and adventure camps. It is located in Piedimonte, about 600 meters above sea level, nestled in the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, within 70 hectares of woodland with centuries-old chestnut trees, oaks, hornbeams, and beeches. The village is built entirely from wood and natural materials, offering an experience in close contact with nature, viewed as an educational environment rather than a challenge.
The activities are designed to develop autonomy, creativity, and teamwork, and are aimed at children, schools, families, and groups. Hands-on experiences include building shelters, bivouacs, and earth ovens, lighting fires using traditional methods, baking “ciapati” bread and other simple foods, navigating with compass and maps, and exploring the surrounding natural trails.
Community life, shared spaces, and environmental education are integral parts of the program, along with team-building activities for adults and companies. The experience is immersive, far from technology and urban traffic, and is led by expert instructors with the goal of strengthening the bond with nature and developing practical skills useful in everyday life.
