The most awaited event of the Mugello spring is back!
Sunday 25 May from 10 a.m. one of the most beloved appointments of the Mugello spring returns: the Scarperia Infiorata, in its 44th edition!
The theme of this edition celebrates CAROSELLO, the historic television programme aired from 1957 to 1977 and which made iconic advertisements that we still remember today. Under the title ‘Correva l'anno di...CAROSELLO’ (It was the year of... CAROSELLO), the Infiorata will take us back in time with floral paintings of advertisements and characters such as Calimero, Susanna tutta panna, El Merendero... awakening memories and giving us the chance to admire the artistic work that went into creating the advertisements that have remained in the collective imagination.
Along the main street of the historical centre, Via Roma, and in the two squares, Piazza dei Vicari and Piazza Clasio, between Saturday evening and Sunday morning, schools, associations, traders and citizens will come together to create floral paintings of various sizes.
The day will be enlivened by a number of side events linked to the event:
- 4 p.m., the initiative promoted by the Region of Tuscany ‘Amico Museo’ returns. An educational workshop for children will be organised for the occasion. Participants will be introduced to the protagonists of the historic advertisements of the Carosello programme, reflecting on the different types of communication of yesterday and today. Thanks to the flower petals used for the flower pictures, we will be able to create miniature flower pictures to take home, made with the protagonists of the day: from Calimero to Susanna tutta panna, from El Merendero to Il Gigante Ferrero. Admission to the event and educational activity free of charge, booking recommended for the activity.
- From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. it will be possible to visit the museum complex of Palazzo dei Vicari and Museo dei Ferri Taglienti’ Free admission for residents of Scarperia and San Piero. - At the Old Propositura in Piazza dei Vicari you will find the Book Fair, organised by the Scarperia and San Piero Municipality and the Municipal Libraries, in collaboration with the Istituto Comprensivo di Scarperia e San Piero. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
