THE OLD TOWN OF SCARPERIA
10:00 - 22:00
The most awaited event of the Mugello spring is back, a unique opportunity to see the beautiful old town of Scarperia, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, completely invaded by a multitude of colored petals:
Sunday, May 22, throughout the day, back the INFIORATA, with its 41st edition.
Along the main street of the historic center Via Roma, and in the two squares Piazza dei Vicari and Piazza Clasio, between the evening of Saturday and Sunday morning schools, associations, traders and citizens will meet for
create floral paintings of various sizes.
This year’s theme is related to women in history, and the title is "If this is a flower". A journey through time, paying homage to various women who have marked the history, the show, the art and the music of Italy and beyond. It will range from characters like Mina or Raffaella Carrà, to others like Oriana Fallaci or Rita Levi Montalcini, just to mention some of the most known names.
In addition, to recall an important theme such as violence against women, there will be a floral painting in front of the red bench placed in the public gardens of Via Lippi, as well as an itinerant themed installation in the main street of the historic center of the village.
Also this year will be proposed the initiative "Adopt a framework", through which local companies for years support the event with their contributions.
The paintings will remain visible and can be photographed throughout the day, and the famous cutlery and shops of the historic center will remain open as well as restaurants and trattorias where you can enjoy typical Mugello dishes.
But not only: the day will be enlivened by some collateral events. We mention:
