Organized by Poeti e Scarponi After passing the Giogo Pass, you pass from Mugello to the so-called Romagna Toscana, the Firenzuola valley, “where Tuscan is spoken in the land of Romagna”. The wayfarer of the past could grasp in the power of the Apennine nature a sign of the presence of the divine, and one of these wayfarers could be… Dante! Starting from the millenary Badia di Moscheta, we will cross a narrow valley known as the Valle dell'Inferno: the people of the area like to think that it was the sheer rocks along this narrow valley that suggested to Dante, during his movements as an exile, the structure of Hell narrated in the Divine Comedy. The excursion will then continue towards the Rovigo stream and to a splendid waterfall which, even in the height of summer, attracts for the freshness of its waters. A day full of wild nature and the literary suggestions of the great poet, father of the Italian language, in a borderland between Romagna and Tuscany that well represents the spirit of the traveler who was Dante Alighieri for most of his life. The excursion is part of the review "Borghi Danteschi" of which you can find the link below, if you want to know the other excursions scheduled: https://borghidanteschi.it/ 10.00 am: meeting in Badia di Moscheta (FI) at the Museum of the Historical Landscape of the Apennines.
