GoticaLaVia, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the liberation and in collaboration with Appennino Slow, proposes a 4-day discovery of the places of the 36* Garibaldi Brigade.
A walk through the woods and mountains of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, to discover the places where a group of young men began the Resistance for the Liberation of Italy from Nazi and Fascist occupation. From the Lamone valley to the Senio valley to reach Monte Battaglia, today a place of memory and sacrifice of the men who liberated Italy.
Itinerary
24 April 2025: departure from Crespino sul Lamone (FI)
27 April: arrival in Casola Valsenio (RA)
This trek is suitable for people who have a good workout and regularly undertake hiking activities. The route does not present technical difficulties, but the length of the stages and the height differences are not to be underestimated
DAY 1
From Crespino sul Lamone we climb towards the ridge to reach the Le Spiagge refuge, home of the 36th Garibaldi Bianconcini Brigade, surrounded by woods and panoramic views of the Mugello mountains.

DAY 2
From the Rifugio le Spiagge we reach the nearby Passo della Sambuca to start walking along the Trafila Partigiana (Partisan Trail), along the ridge paths and touching places of clashes between partisans and Germans: Casetta di Tiara, Cà di Vestro and Cà di Cicci. The route continues down into the Senio valley, reaching Palazzuolo

DAY 3
From Palazzuolo sul Senio we reconquer the watershed ridge between the Senio and Santerno valleys, to return to the Trafila Partigiana and reach Monte Carnevale and descend to Cà Budrio, at the foot of Monte Battaglia.

DAY 4
From Cà Budrio we climb up old paths to Monte Battaglia, a symbolic place and monument to the Liberation, where over 1,000 men gave their lives for their country.
We begin the descent towards Casola Valsenio where the route ends, after paying homage to the Partisan Resistance with friends of the ANPI.
