Trekking from Badia Moscheta
GoticaLaVia, in collaboration with the environmental hiking guide Donata Petracchi and Giancarlo Barzagli, author of the book ‘Grüne Linie’, proposes a trek in the footsteps and paths ‘on the side of the enemy’. Lush and majestic nature will be the backdrop of the trek ‘Against the advance of the Partisans of the 36*’.
During this trek you will walk along the western slope of the Val di Rovigo, a slope historically occupied by the German army.
From the centuries-old Badia di Moscheta, which stands hermit and proud in the narrow confluent valley, you will climb up to the La Serra pass, where the places appear unchanged in time and the stones mark the mule track to Isola and Isolina (the names alone evoke the magical solitude of these small farms!).
La Serra, what is today a fabulous panoramic terrace on an uninterrupted expanse of as many shades of green as there are tree species, in the summer of ‘44 was a German military base precisely because it strategically dominated the two valleys.
You then climb the ridge of Monte Acuto to reach the small village of Giogarello. A handful of sandstone houses that with its suggestive marronete has resisted the armed conflict and the desolate abandonment by its people.

MEETING POINT AND DEPARTURE: Badia di Moscheta, 9 a.m.
END: Return at 15.30 to the usual meeting point
LENGTH: approx. 7.5 km
DIFFICULTY: Route (E): Hiking of medium difficulty on path and dirt road.
DEGREE: +/- 500 m approx.
ACTUAL DURATION OF THE HIKE: approx. 4h30; 6h30 including all stops
FOOD AND DRINKS: Own packed lunch
CLOTHING: Suitable clothing for the season, hiking shoes, backpack with packed lunch, water bottle, poles and a clean change of clothes to leave in the car are recommended.
The route may vary depending on weather conditions and at the Guide's discretion.

For those who wish to do so, it will be possible to visit the Museum of the Historical Landscape of the Apennines in Badia di Moscheta: opening hours 10.30 a.m. - 6.30 p.m., ticket price € 1.50
