Saturday 5 April at 5 p.m., in the Council Chamber of the Borgo San Lorenzo Municipality, there will be the presentation of the book Il Mugello dal Medioevo al Novecento. Storia e identità di una terra toscana, published by Leo S. Olschki Editore and edited by Giuliano Pinto and Veronica Vestri, who will be present at the event.
After the institutional greetings of the Mayor of Borgo San Lorenzo, Leonardo Romagnoli, the book will be illustrated by the speeches of Margherita Azzari (full professor at the University of Florence), Christian Satto (researcher and lecturer at the University for Foreigners of Siena) and Lorenzo Tanzini (full professor at the University of Cagliari).
The book offers a wide-ranging analysis of the history of Mugello from the late Middle Ages to the late 20th century, examining administrative transformations, demographic evolution, the extraordinary artistic flourishing and the transition from a predominantly agricultural and sylvan-pastoral economy to an area characterised by the development of manufacturing and the tertiary sector.
