At the Spazio Brizzolari in Scarperia, thanks to the BRIZZOLART Project (artistic direction by Marco Paoli), an innovative collective exhibition entitled ‘Contrasts at Brizzolari’ will be inaugurated on 07/09/2024 at 6 pm. Already from the title, with the word ‘Contrasts’, one can guess much of the meaning that this new visual arts exhibition intends to represent; showing the public works similar to the style of the artist to whom the Museum is dedicated, Antonio Brizzolari.
The artists taking part in the group exhibition, twenty-two in all, will express themselves in the figurative arts, each with their own personality. You will find Classical artists recounting what they see in everyday reality, each in his or her own style, expressing, as they interpret it, all the poetry of which they are capable. This could be the phase of his life when Antonio lived in museums with his father and brother.
There will be expressionist artists who use shapes and colours to spill onto the support the moods, sensations, emotions of the inner and outer world, which sometimes go straight to the heart or head, even in a way that is strong and shocking to the ‘attentive eye. Sculptors who mould strong materials in any form, using every material that nature makes available to them.
We will see large, highly creative installations that tell stories, thoughts and ideals, inviting the public to reflect, accompanying them in stories to be told. There is so much experimentation in this exhibition, the authors of some works are never satisfied with the results obtained, continuing to search for and experiment with different materials and effects, because to say that thing you need that object or that technique, which is irreplaceable, there is a way to use it and for this you have to try so much, until the work finally transmits... There will be precious objects and tiny works of art, which will enchant you, or innovative digital and photographic graphic techniques, with fascinating effects.
Other works tell a new humanism, contemporary and current, stories of today, of women and men. The figures that the artist creates, to speak to you, like eyes looking at you, conveying emotions or words, will tend to enrapture you or make you reflect, initiating a dialogue with the visitor.
In short, a lot of imagination awaits you, expressed by talented artists, a lot of colour, imagination and emotions, everyone will certainly find a work that will make you dream. We feel very attached to this location and therefore hope to be able to pay tribute, with the works of the 22 artists, to the narrative of the museum named after Antonio Brizzolari.
