On Saturday, May 25, 2024, in two sessions, the Pro Loco Scarperia - thanks to the kind collaboration of the owners - has organized a guided tour between the exhibition at the Palazzo dei Vicari and the Trebbio Castle in Scarperia and San Piero: "A Suitable Place for a Fortress. Cosimo I and the Trebbio Castle."
The Trebbio Castle was for many years the residence of Cosimo de’Medici, the future duke and grand duke of Florence, and his mother Maria Salviati. Thanks to this extraordinary opening of the Trebbio gardens, "innovative" thanks to the foresight of Cosimo I, we will discover the curiosities, events, and characters that have revolved around this Medici residence! All in the company of our director Giuseppina Carla Romby, who will guide you in a focus on Cosimo and his painting, inside the Palazzo dei Vicari, and subsequently in the splendid exteriors of the castle.
After the openings of the Cafaggiolo Castle and the Church of Santa Maria ad Olmi (by appointment on Saturday, May 18), we will visit another of the places dear to the Medici family; an exclusive guided tour on Saturday, May 25, at 10:00 am - first session - and at 11:00 am - second session.

Cost of the initiative: 15 euros per person; the transfer from the Palazzo dei Vicari to the Trebbio Castle is autonomous, it is advisable to have a car suitable for dirt roads.
