Vicchio - When art and good food meet
At the Antica Porta di Levante a new exhibition by Marta Manetti
"Invisible cities", homage to the evocative atmosphere of Calvino
The union between art and good food is renewed at the Restaurant and Enoteca Locanda Antica Porta di Levante di Vicchio. The hosts, Simone Draisci and the chef Cristian Borchi, are not new to host art exhibitions in the Mugello as well as the new author who exhibits her works in this spring and Easter period. Marta Manetti, an illustrator from Mugello, is in fact back in the walls of the Locanda where she has set up several exhibitions. The music, the wines, the refined cuisine and the environment match perfectly with the attention to detail and the sense of color of the illustrator. Often the exhibitions have had as object the original illustrations of the various publications of the designer, the current setting has as its subject the unpublished illustrations of some of the imaginary cities described by Italo Calvino in the book "The invisible cities" published in 1972.
Suggestions, imagination and delicate colors bring the viewer into distant and fantastic worlds,
thanks to the variety of artistic techniques used: from watercolor to acrylic, from ink to colored pencils. At the entrance of the Locanda the tables welcome the viewer in their diversity and ability to evoke dreamlike places.
One more occasion, for those who will attend the Inn in the coming days of celebration, to linger and enjoy the art all round and then devote themselves to the choice of wines and enjoy the dishes with great satisfaction, in an atmosphere always very welcoming!
