Between the buttresses of the Apennines and the gentle hills of the Mugello valley, one of the most powerful dynasties in history was born: the Medici. The castles and villas that we will meet along the way, still know how to convey the sense of power and wealth that this family has been able to achieve. From the station of San Piero a Sieve we first reach the fortress of San Martino with its imposing walls overlooking the surrounding valley. We will continue towards the Trebbio Castle, with its majestic tower and from here we will arrive at the Pieve di San Giovanni in Petroio and its panoramic view of Lake Bilancino. We will continue the route, until the Castle of Cafaggiolo and from here we will return to the starting point.Meeting place: S. Piero a Sieve (Fi) at 9.30.
