Music of Peace in the Church of San Carlo ai Cappuccini
The Camerata de' Bardi for the Tuscany Festival

Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 18.30, the Camerata de' Bardi Cultural Association, also the Municipal School of Music of Borgo San Lorenzo "Marco da Galliano", celebrates the Feast of Tuscany 2021 with the event titled 'Music of Peace in the Grand Duchy'.
The evening will take place at the Church of San Carlo ai Cappuccini and is realized with the participation of the Regional Council of Tuscany, the patronage of the Municipality of Borgo San Lorenzo and the collaboration of the Secular Franciscan Order of the Convent.
The celebration of the initiative is linked to the figure of Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo and his enlightened policy that has elevated Tuscany to a land of peace, justice and freedom, the first region in the world to abolish the death penalty.
The historical part, conducted by Dr.ssa Sabrina Malavolti Landi, is linked to the musical part, with the performance of important pages of Italian and European composers who strongly emphasize these values and human rights promoted by the Grand Duke: Life, Peace, Brotherhood, Justice, Freedom, against all forms of Hatred. Music, the universal language of the dialogue of peace, exalts and promotes these values, connecting with the Franciscan vision of the world and its motto "Pax et Bonam".
The event will be linked to the stop, in the Franciscan Convent, of the Crucifix of San Damiano, the famous icon in front of which Francis of Assisi, while in prayer, received from the Lord the call to his mission. From Mugello, the Crucifix of San Damiano will leave for the other Franciscan stages of the Tuscan coast, before returning to its headquarters, the Basilica of Santa Chiara in Assisi.
The Camerata de' Bardi Instrumental Ensemble will perform music by Felix Le Roy, Giovan Battista Martini and Franz Liszt.
