SUNDAY 31 OCTOBER - THE SASSO DI CASTRO BETWEEN "SERPENTINI" AND MUFLONI Our Mugello continues to surprise us! Each valley has its own particularity, in the shapes of the reliefs, in the colors and typology of the woods, in the history and in the local products, the result of the work of man and nature. Beyond all expectations is the extraordinary nature of Sasso di Castro, Monte Rosso and Montebeni, rugged hills formed by ophiilitic massive blocks, for friends the so-called "serpentines", which suddenly rise from the gentle lines of the rest of the Apennine chain, covered by the green-brown-ocher of beech woods. And as if that weren't enough… some floristic peculiarities adorn these rocks and an "alien" animal right here paws and grazes quietly, is the peaceful mouflon. We will see some good ones!
