The Posto Tappa Gea, hiking refuge, is a structure located in the center of the village of Castagno d'Andrea a few meters from the church of San Martino which houses the frescoes of Master Annigoni. Nearby there are also the grocery "Il Castagno", the oven "La Spiga", the tavern "Il Rifugio and the bar "Falterona". It is the ideal accommodation for those who intend to stay and leave without special requests. The structure is open all year round with the self-management mode. The structure consists of two rooms with bunk beds and a common room with a large table for meals. One room can accommodate up to 10 people, the other up to 12 for a total of 22 seats available. In the structure there are a large bathroom, consisting of an anteroom with a large sink and three toilets with shower separated by a door and another small bathroom with shower. The heating of the rooms and the hot water are obtained thanks to the biomass-fired district heating system in the village of Castagno. The property provides disposable sheets and blankets, it is however advisable to be provided with sleeping bag for the night. The shelter does not provide bath towels.
