The Festasaggia "Antica battitura del grano" on its seventh edition
In a magnificent valley within the National Park of the Casentino Forests Monte Falterona and Campigna, on Saturday 27 July, the Festasaggia "Antica battitura del grano" (ancient wheat threshing) will take place, now in its seventh edition.
The Associazione Foresta Modello delle Montagne Fiorentine (Model Forest of the Florentine Mountains Association) at its partner Azienda agricola Le Casine will offer an intense day of activities from morning until late evening.
During the day, there will be food stands with local products and handicrafts, and it will be possible to taste schiacciate (flat bread) with Scarpaccia cold cuts, cheeses and sweets produced by the Le Casine farm.
It will be possible to admire the work realised by the "Bottega di Ciro" with re-use material found on the farm in collaboration with the Laboratorio di Riparazione e Riuso Londa and the Associazione Andrea del Castagno.
Upon reservation, it is possible to participate in the Ecoprinting and Watercolour with Wine workshops.
In the morning, a walk to recognise herbs, flowers and mushrooms with Mara Fiesolani, in the afternoon workshops and activities for children with the donkeys Mimosa and Fabio.
From 4.30 p.m. the highlights of the day: wheat threshing using the traditional method, singing at sunset with the CONfusion choir, and finally, after dinner, "Parole e d'Appennino i canti" theatre with Marco Paoli and Francesco Fuligni.
