GoticaLaVia, in collaboration with the Environmental Hiking Guide Filippo Bravetti, offers a ring trek around the Refuge of Castellonchio (FI), an old farmhouse, now used as a refuge, which hosted, in early spring 1944, a command base for work on the Gothic Line, being in fact halfway between the valley and the Apennine ridge.
On the way back through the Nature Trail, we will descend to Casa d'Erci, where we will relive together a glimpse of the past and life in this area of the Apennines.
During the excursion we will be completely immersed in the Tuscan nature and will be read and told stories of locals who were forced or chose to work for the Organization Todt. Stories of people who didn’t want to enlist, didn’t want to be deported to Germany... wanted to live with their family.
