Open Day Archive
A meeting to discuss what has been and what will be. When it comes to archives, studying the past to understand the present and envision the future is the fundamental path, but in this case, the focus of the day will be on the activities of the archive. An 'open day' of the archive to have a first-hand experience with the thousands of documents from the Vicariate of Mugello, preserved at the Vicar's Palace in Scarperia.
With the distribution of the publication "A Year in the Archive," a look is taken at the recent past, retracing all the events that animated the life of the archive in the past year. From the exhibition 'Paper Animals' to visits to the center of Scarperia and San Piero a Sieve for 'Facts and Misdeeds,' because a written memory for all those documents that have been given a voice should remain. A visit to the archive premises makes it possible to see the current state, the present condition of the papers, amid ongoing research and restoration. But an eye is also on the future, on projects and events planned for 2024, with the hope of increasing community involvement.
The appointment is on Saturday, March 2nd, at 4:30 pm at the Vicar's Palace in Scarperia, and is organized by the Scarperia Library.

On this occasion, it will also be possible to visit the noble halls of the Vicar's Palace, including the exhibition "The Medici: People of Mugello," curated by the Uffizi Galleries, the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation, and the Mountain Union of the Municipalities of Mugello.
