Four summer concerts
Back for the tenth year the Festival Passaggi, organized by the Giotto in Musica Cultural Association with the Artistic Direction of Stefano Zanobini, first viola of the Orchestra della Toscana and founder of the Alraune Ensemble, also sponsored by the City of Borgo San Lorenzo.
Giotto in Musica has decided to decline its concert activity to raise awareness of environmental issues by identifying some places for concerts that could be a symbol of a good coexistence between Man and Nature, sensitivity that led to the strong link between man and the waterways. From here the first appointment in Borgo San Lorenzo will be held at the waterfalls of the Bastions along the river Sieve.
Among the many events on the territory of the Metropolitan City Borgo San Lorenzo will host 4: May 20 at 18.00 the String Quartet Sine Tempore Bianca Pianesi and Andrea Barbieri, violins Irene Ardino, viola Niccolò Bini, cello, young formation that is improving at the Music School of Fiesole, which you can listen to at the Cascatine dei Bastioni along the river Sieve. An evocative concert to listen to sitting on the grass (it is advisable to bring a towel to sit on the lawn): the programme includes Haydn’s The Bird Quartet and Schubert’s famous Death and Maiden.
On June 10 at 21.00 at the Pieve di San Lorenzo in the historic center of Borgo. Conductor Pier Carlo Orizio will lead the orchestra in the Symphony No. 1 "Classical" of S. Prokofiev. To open the concert Emilio Checchini, solo clarinet, in the concert of W.A. Mozart. The concert will be dedicated to the memory of Piero Bellugi, a reference figure for the ORT Foundation, in the tenth anniversary of his death.
On 23 June at 19.00 in the Cloister of the Church of San Francesco: "Sclarinettando" the title that sees performing ÂME - Amateur Music Ensemble of the School of Music of Fiesole with Emilio Checchini and Giovanni Riccucci, clarinet soloists (respectively first clarinet of ORT and already first clarinet of the Tetro del Maggio Fiorentino and teacher of the School of Fiesole) with Stefano Zanobini, concert master. The programme includes music by F. Krommer (the rare concert for two clarinets op. 35), then Schumann, Vaughan-Williams, Janáček, Reger.
On June 30 at 21.00, in the Oratorio di S. Omobono, the Ensemble Capriccio Armonico, where will be performed pieces by Paulus, Gjeilo, Pärt and much more, both with repertoire accompanied by piano and for voices only, a cappella.
