Giuseppe Verdi’s traviata at the Teatro Giotto in Borgo San Lorenzo
Friday, April 8th, 2022, at 8.30pm, the Camerata de' Bardi, also Municipal School of music of Borgo San Lorenzo 'Marco da Galliano', brings to the stage at the Borghigiano Teatro Giotto (Corso Giacomo Matteotti, 151), La traviata di Giuseppe Verdi.
The operatic appointment of the 9th Opera-Symphonic Season 2021-2022 - realized with the patronage and the contribution of the Municipality, the Accademia degli Audaci, the Banco Fiorentino - Mugello, Impruneta, Signa, of the Coop Members Section of Borgo San Lorenzo and the B&B Il Giardinetto di Scarperia - will see on the stage of the Teatro Borghigiano, after two years of forced stop, the Orchestra Camerata de' Bardi together with the Choir Italian Opera Florence, under the direction of Mr. David Boldrini.
Performed for the first time in Venice, at the Teatro La Fenice, on 6 March 1853, La traviata is the third and last opera of Verdi’s 'Popular Trilogy', the one that best represents the Romantic theatre, with his psychological interiorities and his multiple and contrasting passions.
The libretto by Francesco Maria Piave comes from the novel by Alexander Dumas son The Lady of the Camellias.
The work faithfully follows the novel changing the names of the protagonists: Marguerite becomes Violetta, Armand becomes Alfredo. Complex and delicate characters rendered by the Swan of Busseto with great wisdom finely psychological, since the Prelude of Act I, highlighting the purity of feelings.
The pre-sale of tickets opens Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the headquarters of the Municipal School of Music, in Piazza Dante 33 (Borgo San Lorenzo), from Monday to Saturday, with the following hours: 10-13 / 16-19.
Ticket costs: I sector 30 euro, Coop members 25 euro; II sector 25 euro, Coop members 20 euro; children 14 years 10 euro in each sector.
