Music and shows

Thursday 30 December 2021, at 9.00 pm, the Camerata de 'Bardi Cultural Association, also the Municipal School of Music of Borgo San Lorenzo 'Marco da Galliano', inaugurates its 9th Opera-Symphonic Season, in the Pieve di San Lorenzo. The lyric-symphonic concert will see the Camerata de 'Bardi Orchestra accompany the voice of the solo soprano Sumiko Okawa and the solo instruments of the sisters Sabrina and Roberta Malavolti Landi on clarinet and violin, under the direction of M ° Gabriele Centorbi, violinist, composer and conductor, recently much appreciated in the Sanpierino concert for the relocation of the restored Crucifix in the Pieve. The lyric-symphonic concert, which enjoys the patronage of the Municipality and the contribution of the bourgeois administration, the Coop Members Section of Borgo San Lorenzo, the Banco Fiorentino, the "B&B Il Giardinetto" of Scarperia and the collaboration of the Pastoral Unit of Borgo San Lorenzo, is part of the broader calendar of events of the institutional day in memory of the victims of the bombing of 1943. The program includes the performance of two famous pages by the German composer Johann Sebastian Bach: Aria on the fourth string from Suite n. 3 in D Major BWV 1068 - known to the general public for being the theme song for Piero Angela's Quark television program - and the Jesus bleibet meine freude [Jesus remains my joy] from the Cantata 'Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben' BWV 147 [ Heart and Mouth and Action and Life]. From Germany to Austria with the performance of the sublime Adagio from the Concerto for clarinet and orchestra in A major K 622 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and to France by George Bizet with the Agnus Dei for baritone and orchestra from Suite n. 2 'L'Arlésienne'. The Serenade D889 by Franz Schubert, taken from the melancholy 'Schwanengesang' [The Swan Song] and the Pavane op. 50 in F sharp minor by Gabriel Fauré anticipate the performance of Requiem SC 76 by the Lucca composer Giacomo Puccini, written in a single day, commissioned by the publisher Giulio Ricordi, in memory of Giuseppe Verdi and performed on the day of the death of the Swan by Busseto, January 27, 1905, in Milan. Admission is free and free for all citizens.
