16th/10 - Open and free Harp lesson with Mª Elena Maria Gaia Castini

Saturday 16 October 2021, from 11.00, at the headquarters of our Municipal School of Music in Borgo San Lorenzo, in Piazza Dante 33, the teacher Elena Maria Gaia Castini will hold an open and free Harp lesson, in order to make known and try this fascinating and ancient musical instrument. The very young teacher Elena Maria Gaia Castini, born in 1994, at the age of seven, wins the 1st prize, soloist category, at the 5th “Young Harpers” Competition in Lastra a Signa (FI). At the age of eight she was admitted to the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence, where she graduated in 2012 with full marks and honors. Later he attended the Bienno Specialistico in harp, graduating in February 2016 with full marks, honors and honorable mention. In March 2018 he obtained the II level Master in harp at the "Arrigo Boito" Conservatory of Parma and his thesis The compositions for harp by Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco, in the fiftieth anniversary of his death is presented at the II National Harp Symposium in Italy, held in October 2018 in Villa Medici Giulini (MB). She began her concert career at a very young age, both as a soloist and in chamber and orchestral formations. He regularly collaborates with the Filharmonie Orchestra of Florence, the Orchestra del Carmine of Florence, the New Europe Orchestra, the Camerata de 'Bardi Orchestra, the Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra, the City of Grosseto Symphony Orchestra, Southbank Sinfonia di London, the Italian Youth Orchestra, under the direction of D. Gatti, A. Lonquich, A. Colombini, D. Boldrini, G. De Simonis. Alongside the concert activity, he also teaches at the "Prima Materia" School of San Quirico, the Free Waldorf School of Florence, the "Il Trillo" Music School in Florence, the secondary school of the Istituto Serve di Maria Addolorata of Florence. The lesson is open and free to all interested and music lovers who intend to discover this stringed instrument of ancient origins that from the Sumerians, through the Egyptians with the harps of Ramses III, from the Celts, from the Jews, from the Romans, arrived in our days.
