10 October: Convent of Bosco ai Frati - San Piero a Sieve
Mugello borderland, between Emilia and Romagna on one side and just outside Florence on the other, this area has always winked at the liveliest cultural centers of the beautiful country. Gastronomic excellences, scenic wonders and places of art, history and culture chase each other to live unique experiences. Trekking between nature and… Literature! Not far from Florence, the birthplace of Dante Alighieri, is the Mugello, land of the noble Medici family who for centuries ruled Tuscany, transforming it into a treasure trove of beauty known all over the world. Starting from the village of San Piero a Sieve and walking on forest paths and farm roads, in a moment you can immerse yourself in the colorful and panoramic nature that has fascinated the artists and writers who have passed through here. The quiet religiosity of the Bosco ai Frati convent is the goal of the journey, through a wood that seems to have emerged from the first lines of Dante's Comedy.
Program 10 October 2021 2.00 pm: meeting in San Piero a Sieve (FI). 7 km excursion with a visit to the Convent of Bosco ai Frati. Dante's readings along the path inside the woods.
7.00 pm: return to San Piero a Sieve (FI).
