2-day walk The Via degli Dei: San Piero a Sieve - Fiesole Weekend to walk along a stretch of La Via degli Dei Week-end walking along the Via degli Dei with meeting point in San Piero a Sieve. Stages steeped in history and nature, the route tells the story of the Medici lordship, starting from San Piero a Sieve which houses the Medici Fortress of San Martino built by Cosimo I de Medici to defend the possessions of the family, of ecclesial lordships with the presence of abbeys and convents. Along the way you can enjoy some of the most beautiful panoramic views of Florence and the hills of Fiesole.
Path program
Day 1 - September 18, 2021 Leg: San Piero a Sieve - Bivigliano 15 km with 1000 m of difference in height Meeting in San Piero a Sieve to walk towards the abbey of Buon Sollazzo and the convent of Monte Senario. Path with a difference in height of 1000 m until reaching Monte Senario.
Day 2 - September 19, 2021 Leg: Bivigliano– Fiesole, 15 km with 380 m of difference in height On the second day the walk continues with a pleasant descent towards Vetta alle Croci between expanses of fields and sweeping views over the Mugnone Valley and Florence. From the Olmo, go up towards Poggio Pratone from which you can enjoy an enchanting view of Florence. The path continues to Monte Fanna and after a stretch of paved road you reach Borgunto and Piazza Mino in Fiesole.
