The name of the agriturismo and the place itself is thought to derive from ‘passeggeria’, or place of great passage: near the Passeggere houses, in fact, you can see a junction between two paths, one of which is the ancient Roman road Flaminia Militare, a route still travelled today by hikers on the Via degli Dei, while the other was a mule track dating back to medieval times that joined the Savena and Setta valleys, used in ancient times by pilgrims to reach the Bocca di Rio sanctuary. The agritourism and restaurant are 600 metres from here. The agritourism is located in the upper Mugello and covers about 300 hectares, between 800 and 1,200 metres above sea level in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The hunting reserve is rich in ungulates such as fallow deer, deer, mouflon and wild boar, which - together with the Cinta Senese pig breeding animals - provide the base from which the excellent cured meats, cold cuts and all the other specialities of Tuscan-Emilian cuisine are made and served at the restaurant, which is housed in an old barn that has been elegantly restored respecting the original architecture typical of the Apennines. In an adjacent building, called Incisa, there are 10 cosy rooms furnished in country style, each with LCD TV and private bathroom.
