The journey of "Libri sotto le stelle" (Books Under the Stars) continues. This traveling literary festival brings books, authors, and meetings to the most picturesque locations in Mugello. Following the stops in Marradi and tomorrow, July 24th, in Vicchio, the third event is scheduled for Monday, July 27th at 9:15 PM in Piazza Castelvecchio in Borgo San Lorenzo. The protagonist will be Tomaso Montanari with his book La continuità del male. Perché la destra italiana è ancora fascista (The Continuity of Evil: Why the Italian Right is Still Fascist). Readings will be performed by Riccardo Rombi.
The festival is a Compagnia Catalyst project organized by the Unione Montana dei Comuni del Mugello. It travels across the territory, bringing culture to places of unique charm, as well as symbolic, historical, and scenic value. Courtyards, museums, palaces, gardens, squares, and castles thus become spaces for encounters, reflection, and debate.
Coordinated by Daniela Morozzi, the events are designed to stimulate an open dialogue on major contemporary issues. These include war, workplace exploitation, environmental protection, toxic relationships, resilient communities, and building a different future. It is a journey that intertwines literature, current events, and participation, while simultaneously promoting the cultural and landscape heritage of Mugello.
In his latest book, Tomaso Montanari addresses the persistence of the fascist legacy within the Italian right, offering a reflection that weaves together history and the present. It provides an opportunity to delve into a topic at the center of public debate through a direct exchange with one of the most authoritative intellectuals on the Italian scene.
Admission is free until maximum seating capacity is reached. The invitation is to experience a summer evening dedicated to culture, dialogue, and the discovery of one of the most charming corners of Borgo San Lorenzo, within a festival that continues to transform Mugello into a large, widespread stage for words and ideas.
