The Medicean Villa "Lo Sprocco", dipped in the green of the valley between S. Agata and Galliano (as it is magnificently described by Conte Sassoli) one of the best residences in Mugello, situated in an ideal position for climate and lighting system, from which its name derives (in ancient florentine Sprocco means “sprout”)As an old history says, the Villa enjoys the first sun beam of the day and of the last one of the sunset, from which the first sprouts born. This ancient residence (XV century) was wanted and build by Lorenzo and Giovanni De Medici. In the 1729 family Ducci, a noble Florentine one, added a chapel to private ceremonies. In the immense park, you’ll find secular trees, sequoias and the famous "Red Faggio", a majestic tree which dates back to 450 years ago. Dipped in this immense and well preserved park, the Villa opens in a splendid panorama, background enormous Calvana mountain, Monte Morello, Monte Senario and, on east, the Falterona one.
