The Giogo-Casaglia Reserve is tethered by a thick network of trails, suited to all levels of fitness.
The Unione Montana dei Comuni del Mugello has worked in the past years to enrich the territory’s facilities and to give tourists access so they might enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the area.
The reserve holds numerous rest stops, shelters and retreats that making trekking, for day excursions or for longer periods, possible for you and your family.
The trails are divided into themes, 7 itineraries created to offer a new way of trekking: the Gothic Line trail, the bio-diverse trail, the hunting for photographs trail, the Easy nature for all – accessible for those with disabilities, the Moscheta Abbey trail, and the Casa D’Erci history-nature trail.
There also 18 loop trails that tether the Giogo-Casaglia territory for trekking at different levels of difficulty.
Along with the information found on-line regarding the trails, you can buy the map of the trails and themes of the Giogo-Casaglia forest complex (1:15.000 scale), edited by Selca, Ischetus and Rifugi Mugello.
The guide book can be found at the Moscheta Abbey Museum, in the Rifugi Mugello Retreats and in book shops, newspaper stalls and tourist information offices in the area.
