The Antico Mulino Parrini is located in Sant'Agata, in Mugello, on the Cornocchio stream. It is a water mill with stone millstones and horizontal wheel positioned under the millstones.
For the production the mill worked until the 60s. Later, thanks to the obstinacy of the last miller Tonio and his son Giuseppe, the mill was kept in the main structures for exclusively family use.
For its characteristics, Mulino Parrini is part of the Friends of Historic Mills Association (AIAMS)
The Parrini family has handed down the memory of the "secret" visits of Bettino Ricasoli during the "Tuscan revolution" of April 1859 in which he was the protagonist. In the days of political and popular unrest that preceded and followed the departure of Grand Duke Leopold II, Baron Bettino sometimes left Florence - incognito for security reasons - and retired to Sant'Agata right at the Parrini Mill then owned by him.
