On cold or rainy days, our libraries organaize events with enjoying reading activities, and theaters offers shows for younger children. In May, in Borgo San Lorenzo there is even a week dedicated to the kids's world: "Mugello da Fiaba". You can find a summary of summer activities in the depliant "Mugello for kids".

This is a land full of picnics areas, horse rides, guided excursions for families, painting courses at the Giotto's house, activities with donkeys and ponies: all information here!

If you want to look Mugello with the eyes of the young people of Mugello and listen to the story with their voices, watch the videos made by them in the section "Largo ai giovani"

Museums with fun!

Among the museums of the "Museum Network", many of them offer workshops and educational tours but one in particular is dedicated only to children, where they can take off their shoes and play: this is in Borgo San Lorenzo, inside the "Chini Museum" in the beautiful Villa Pecori Giraldi, there is the Children’s Museum.

After a morning at the Children's Museum, it is possible to continue the day by reaching Casa d'Erci in Grezzano, near Borgo San Lorenzo (at about 5 minuts by car). Nowadays this ancient farmhouse is a museum that preserves a consistent and characteristic collection of documentary material of the old rural world of Mugello; this museum shows both the life of the fields and how the home was managed. Families could have picnics in the garden around, or book bread and pizza's workshop, or also visit the ancient Mulino Faini

Another day can start with the visit of Sant'Agata, a small village where time seems to have stopped. Next to the wonderful romanesque church, families can discover archaeology while having fun in the Documentation Centre: the exhibition of many archaeological finds of Mugello ends with a green space with a full-scale reconstruction of a prehistoric village. Then it is possible to continue the visit in the historic centre of this small village, and then get to the Leprino Museum, where you can fins moving characters and cardboard buildings that will take you back into an enchanted world.

Last but not least, you can reach Badia di Moscheta in the municipality of Firenzuola by car. Here, in addition to the excursions and riding activities, the Apennine Historical Museum awaits families for an immersion in the flora and fauna of the Alto Mugello.
