Longer days, spring in all its bloom and trips out of town... we are waiting for you in Scarperia, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, just 30 km from Florence, to spend your first weekends in April among food, wine, art and events!
At the Sagra del Fritto Misto di Scarperia, the protagonist will be the great Tuscan fried food, whose origins are very ancient throughout Italy (but the Florentine combines all sorts of fried vegetables with meat!), together with the typical Mugello potato tortelli, rigorously handmade and faithful to the recipes of the past; followed by crostini, polenta, vegetables, barbecued meat, and more. All cooked with raw materials mostly from the Mugello territory.
And this year there is a great novelty: on the second weekend we will collaborate with a group of volunteers from Valtellina, who will bring a typical regional dish to enjoy at our festival, the sciatt valtellinesi, crispy and tasty buckwheat pancakes with a warm, stringy heart of cheese inside!
You can enjoy all these specialities in the heart of the 14th-century village, in a cosy, heated environment.

But that's not all, you will have the opportunity to combine gastronomy with interesting cultural, art and craft initiatives:
- The museum complex Palazzo dei Vicari Museo dei Ferri Taglienti will be open all day, with opening times 10:00-13:00 & 14:30-18:30. Reduced admission by presenting at the ticket office the receipt for the festival.
- on the afternoon of Saturday 5 April, there will be a guided tour meeting on the occasion of the New Year of the Annunciation: ‘Beyond the Florentine New Year-The Basilica of the SS. Annunziata between popular devotion popular devotion and sacredness of power’ at 4.30 p.m. at the Palazzo dei Vicari in Scarperia. Free entrance
- on Sunday 6 April, the historic town centre will also host the Scarperia market ‘Collectors in piazza’ with exhibitors of handicrafts, collectibles, numismatics, philately and much more.
- Saturday 12 April at 6 p.m. at Palazzo dei Vicari inaugurates the exhibition ‘Socialism and Socialists in Republican Italy republican Italy - Autonomy, Frontism, Class': a tale of images and documents that unfolds in several chapters of historical changes and important political figures
