Two exquisite appointments with chestnuts (and more) in Vicchio
Sunday 13 and Sunday 20 October in the historic centre
In Vicchio, two delicious events with marroni, but not only. The customary ‘Festa dei Marroni’ (Chestnut Festival) returns to the historic centre on Sunday 13 and Sunday 20 October: roasted chestnuts, polenta, mulled wine and chestnut fritters, as well as agricultural producers with local specialities, an extraordinary market and hobby market, demonstrations of formentone (chestnut husk) cutting and grape crushing, workshops and activities for both adults and children, musical entertainment and much more. And for those with a sweet tooth for street food, from 18 to 20 October there is also ‘Gusti di strada’ with food stands in the gardens of Piazza Vittoria.
The ‘Festa dei Marroni’ is organised by the municipality in collaboration with Pro Loco, Gruppo Alpini, Gruppo Agricolo, Centro Commerciale Naturale, Circolo ‘Il Paese’ and with the participation of numerous local associations.
