Interesting route among chestnut woods, but slightly difficult to identify in the first part; scenic and easy to run in the second part.

From Polcanto (386 m.a.s.l.) we take Via della Tassaia  and just before reaching the small cemetery we take trail N. 2 on the left through the chestnut woods.

SUGGESTED ROUTE FOR MTB

By MTB we must move past the trail and continue on Via della Tassaia  until we reach Badia del Buonsollazzo. Here we continue along the paved road Vaglia – Bivigliano. We move right on this road, downhill until we reach S.R. Bolognese at Vaglia. Here we go right and reach Tagliaferro and the Main SOFT ring.

The uphill route becomes a forestry trail. We ignore another trail that leads off to the left reaching the summit of Monte Senario Convent  (815 m.a.s.l.) From the convent the trail moves down a paved road and passes through a side gate near a curve. We move onto a dirt road and then a trail on the left. We move onto trail 00 and reach Valico della Porticciola (687 m.a.s.l.).
At the wooden cross we take a dirt road within an ancient pine wood and abandon it almost immediately when we turn onto a trail that enters a chestnut wood.
At the group of homes called Sodera we continue to move down until we reach a dirt road and then paved road which, moving right, leads to Case Roncuccio and the Buonsollazzo Abbey.
We move in the direction of Polcanto. At the tabernacle we enter an abandoned field.
We must be careful to follow the signs to Campo Romano as we move down to the river, and we must ignore the red and white BO-FI signs of the Sentiero degli Dei (Gods' trail).
The trail continues to the Case Poderuzzo , passing under the Faentina Railway line and on the bridge over the Carza river until we reach the state road to the Futa Pass or via Bolognese to Tagliaferro (240 m.a.s.l.) . We move on along  a small road  (n. 17) which climbs to Spugnole Church and the Trebbio Castle (435 m.a.s.l.).
We then continue on the dirt road that dips towards S.R. 65 Futa and then left for 500 metres roughly to the Mugello Verde Campsite (220 m.a.s.l.).
