Like all animal shelters, the CRR is not a zoo, but rather a hospital for wild animals. Its main priority is to cure, heal and then free birds of prey and other wild animals (tawny owls, little owls, owls, goshawks, eagles, buzzards etc.) suffering from numerous illnesses and accidents. The shelter houses from 250 to 300 birds of prey a year, not including the incredible number of nesting birds that arrive in early spring and summer and the birds that are taken captive. Anyone who finds an injured animal can call the shelter or the Lipu Centre in Florence, via San Gallo 33 – tel. +39 055 474030 The shelter is open on Holidays upon reservation For informationCRR (The Mugello shelter for birds of prey) - LIPU |
