Palazzo del Podestà

The medieval Palazzo del Podestà, dating from the mid-thirteenth century, is now the town library. Damaged by time and by the earthquake of 1919, it  was restored in 1934.
The painting restoration was cared by Dino Chini, specifically the several ancient Podestà coats of arms, painted in the lobby downstairs.
Inside the palace, we find some interesting frescos, as Madonna and Child with Saint John the Baptist and Saint Lawrence, dated 1547.

Public library in Palazzo del Podestà opening time: Monday - Saturday 9 am-7 pm (in winter); Monday - Saturday 9am-1.30 pm, Thursday 4 pm - 7 pm.
