Description

“Agriturismo Gamberaldi.” Under the system of Agrotourism you will stay in true Italian farms and cottages, set in beautiful locations across the country. At Gamberaldi you will experience the hospitality and ambiance that only Tuscany can offer. Borgo Gamberaldi is a small hamlet set in the Apennine Hills of North East Tuscany, close to the border with Emilia Romagna. Historically this strategic position placed Gamberaldi between the “Gran Ducato di Toscana” and “Stato Pontificio” the route that salt and grain had to pass in the 17th century, making Gamberaldi a wealthy and powerful place to be. Today the Gamberaldi Estate extends to 200 hectares of woodland complete with a small organic farm. The wooded area of sweet chestnut and hornbeam trees act a sanctuary for deer and the open areas host many rare and beautiful plants, butterflies and insects. Many different birds fly the skies and it is not unusual to wake in the morning to the sound of cuckoos amid the dawn chorus, while merlins and hen harriers patrol the estate borders. Being on average 600 meters above sea level, the air quality and the clarity of Monte Gamberaldi allows an open vista taking in seven hillsides of wooded groves and clear pastures. At Gamberaldi you will find the main house and reception, the Villa Cavina Pratesi and the newly renovated property “La Perdolina” which will be your holiday accommodation during your stay. La Perdolina consists of 3 self contained apartments all with central heating. “La Perdolina” 1) The Observation Tower, renovated in 2005 to a high standard, it is built on the ruins of a medieval observation tower with commanding views over the local countryside. It’s features are, a sitting room with fireplace, a kitchen with hob and dishwasher, a bathroom with shower and bidet. On the first floor, a spacious family room with one double bed, two single beds and writing table. Picture windows now hold the views of the original observation tower.
